Winning or losing matches is an integral part of WWE 2K25; however, entertaining the crowd and achieving a five-star match rating is another part of the WWE Universe. While participating in matches with stipulations and winning championships is quite exhilarating, delivering a five-star match requires more effort. I strive to get a five-star rating for all my matches, but I soon discovered that it wasn't as easy as one would think.

Even in real life, getting a five-star match rating from David Meltzer is quite coveted, and only a handful of matches get that rating every year. Thankfully, in WWE 2K25, you can get a five-star rating by completing a few conditions, using certain offensive moves, and delivering memorable moments like breaking the ring. Here’s how I have managed to get a five-star rating for some of my matches and impressed viewers.

All Conditions For a Five-Star Match

To achieve a five-star match rating for your match in WWE 2K25, you must consider five conditions that must be met in every match. This isn’t as easy as you think, as some vanilla matches don’t let you use weapons or the environment to your advantage, while not every Superstar in WWE 2K25’s roster can do a Super Finisher.

For such situations, you need to rely more on the gameplay of the game and utilize other features available to you. The five conditions that you need to fulfill include Varied Offence, Heightened Drama, Signature Offence, Defensive Prowess, and Memorable Moments.

You must fulfill all five conditions, as you will receive a score for each towards the end of a match.

While the conditions' nomenclature gives a fair idea about what you need to do, you can make it easier by following some key gameplay tips.

What To Do To Get A Five-Star Match Rating

As mentioned earlier, there are various ways to increase a match's rating. Much like in real wrestling, your match must entertain the crowd, use creative offensive moves, and tell a story.

To achieve this, you can do the following to fulfill the requirements of the five conditions:

• Varied Offence: Use diverse offensive moves instead of spamming the same attacks for a victory. This means you should use a variety of grapple and offensive moves that will keep the crowd entertained.
• Heightened Drama: You can create drama in the ring in various ways. For example, taunting your opponent while they are down or kicking out of a near-fall pin are great ways to increase the drama. Using the breakout feature, you can also attack a downed opponent after winning the match. This will let you use another Signature Move that will surely get the crowd riled up.
• Defensive Prowess: When being attacked, you need to counter-attack or use reversal for finishers/special moves of your opponent. You can also increase this rating by using possum attacks and surprise pins since they tend to break your opponent’s momentum.
• Signature Offence: These are your big moves that you can perform on your opponents. This also includes using WWE 2K25’s Super Finishers. The Signature Offence attribute works in tandem with the star meter while you’re attacking and the crowd's reaction in the arena. For example, you can use The Undertaker’s Chokeslam or Roman Reign’s Super Punch to get the crowd going during a match.
• Memorable Moments: This condition uses a melange of all the abovementioned conditions. For example, using taunts during matches can often create memorable moments if you have the crowd behind you. I found using Roman Reigns’ “Ooh Aah” taunt quite effective during matches. Similarly, using Signature Finishers or Super Finishers during pivotal moments contributes to this attribute. Another way I found to create a memorable moment is by using various weapons during matches that have no DQ. The most effective one I found was the flaming table or putting my opponent through a barricade during a match.

Getting a higher match rating will require some hit-and-trial method so that you can figure out everything you can do to get a five-star rating. While the conditions remain the same for every match, you should still keep things refreshing and try out different things to keep it interesting for the “viewers” in WWE 2K25.
