One of them was Hamm, who had initially been looked at to play Minister Sinister in a sequel to The New Mutants prior to Disney acquiring 20th Century Fox, with the X-Men rights reverting back to Marvel Studios.

Hopefully, whatever their plans are, they include me. But if not, I know that they have a pretty deep bench of folks that are ready to be a part of those stories. There are certainly a lot of stories in the X-Men world to be told. Fantastic Four as well, [like] Doctor Doom. There are so many great things out there. But yeah, I hope I get a chance. Who knows?
Jon Hamm's Career Makes Him A Perfect Fit For MCU's X-Men Or Fantastic Four
With someone of Hamm's caliber, it is shocking how the MCU hasn't already considered him for a role in the franchise. While details are unclear on the X-Men reboot, it would be a full circle moment if Hamm did end up getting cast as Mister Sinister. Not only would it let him play the Marvel baddie that he was being eyed for in the first place, but the X-Men movie could give the audience a refreshing first villain for the iconic mutants.

If Hamm can't land a gig within the X-Men side of the MCU, there is always the Fantastic Four reboot. While Pedro Pascal is in talks to the franchise as Reed Richards, it would be interesting to see Hamm take on someone else from the Fantastic Four mythology. With the wide variety of ing players in the Fantastic Four lore, Hamm could play anyone from Franklin Storm (Sue and Johnny's father) or even take on the role of the Silver Surfer, exploring a more seasoned version of him.

Whether it is for the Fantastic Four or X-Men movies, Hamm would be a huge addition to the MCU's ever-growing list of talent. While the MCU is dealing with some overhauls behind the scenes, it would be neat to see Hamm perhaps get tapped for a heroic or villainous role as part of Phase 7 after The Multiverse Saga is over. But for now, time will tell if Hamm will ever get a shot at being part of the X-Men in live-action in the MCU.
