Everything We Know About The Marvels 2 Aka Captain Marvel 3
The Marvels sets up a future MCU sequel through its three protagonists, potentially in the form of Captain Marvel 3 or a new team-up movie.
Where Did Monica Rambeau Go At The End Of The Marvels
After Dar-Benn acquired Kamala Khan's Quantum Band, she had enough power to exhaust the Earth's sun and bring life back to Hala. However, Dar-Benn wasn't strong enough to wield both Quantum Bands, as their power not only destroyed her, but also tore open a hole in the universe. Monica Rambeau realized that her abilities made her the only one capable of sealing the rupture between realities, but would need to do this from the other side. After absorbing power from Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel, Rambeau sealed the hole in the universe, but ended up stuck on the other side.
All hope may have seemed lost for Monica Rambeau, but The Marvels' post-credits scene revealed that Rambeau is actually alive and well. However, she is no longer in the MCU's 616-universe, as Rambeau awoke in a laboratory that is presumably on the other universe's version of Earth. After waking up, Rambeau was met not only be a variant of her own mother, Lashana Lynch's Maria Rambeau, but also by the iconic X-Men member Beast, with Kelsey Grammer reprising his role from X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past, suggesting Rambeau may be trapped in Fox's X-Men Universe.

That Major Character At The End Of The Marvels Explained
The Marvels features a major character debut, one that carries huge ramifications for the MCU going forward, teasing a long-awaited team.
Signs Monica Rambeau Goes To The Fox X-Men Universe
While Marvel Studios hasn't confirmed whether Monica Rambeau woke up in the X-Men universe featured in 20th Century Fox's franchise or another reality altogether, there are signs that point to this being Fox's universe. The laboratory looks identical to the lower floors of the X-Mansion in Fox's X-Men franchise, with the metal and glass aesthetic perhaps being a treat for nostalgic viewers. Kelsey Grammer's return as Beast is also a clear sign - though he does have a different, more comic-accurate appearance than his depiction in Fox's X-Men Universe - and Beast even mentions Charles, hinting at Professor X's existence.
The Marvels also provides opportunities to see the logo for this reality's X-Men, most notably on a computer screen that Maria Rambeau walks past, and on the double doors that look identical to those seen in Fox's X-Men Universe. Despite the similarities, however, doubt is cast on this being Fox's X-Men Universe because of Maria Rambeau's presence. In The Marvels, Maria Rambeau is Binary, an elevated iteration of Captain Marvel from Marvel Comics who worked with the X-Men, but there was no sign of her or Captain Marvel's existence in Fox's franchise, so this could be a completely different reality.
Carol Danvers became Binary in Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men #164 in 1982 after her abilities were tampered with while on a mission with the X-Men. Binary is one of the Marvel Universe's most powerful superheroes, and is the second variant of Captain Marvel that Lashana Lynch has portrayed, following her appearance on Earth-838's Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Will Monica Rambeau Be In The X-Men Movie?
Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot is in development, and could feature mutant characters ing the MCU from another reality. This may mean that Monica Rambeau won't be seen until then, though the project doesn't yet have a scheduled release date. However, there are multiversal stories premiering before the X-Men get reinvented in the MCU, including 2024's Deadpool 3 and 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. Deadpool 3 is expected to be set somewhat in Fox's X-Men Universe, as Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool will make the move to the MCU, so Monica Rambeau could come back home in the MCU's next project following The Marvels.
