Dead Rising. Making use of the console's backward compatibility, the service is also bringing games like The King of Fighters XIII and Breakdown to players in January. The Games with Gold feature on the Xbox is one benefit of picking up either Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Ultimate, the console’s subscription services. Games with Gold allows limited-time access to various free games which are revealed monthly.

Little Nightmares is a timely offering for the platform as the game’s sequel, Little Nightmares 2, is expected to release in February 2021. That is just one month after Xbox’s program makes the game available for fans who may not have first look at Tarsier Studios’ anticipated follow up, Little Nightmares 2.

As the year approaches its end, The King of Fighters XIII becomes available at the same time as its nightmare-inducing counterpart, the arcade classic will only be up for grabs until January 15.

In the second half of January 2021, of either Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Games Ultimate can check out both Dead Rising and Breakdown for free. The service is offering the remastered version of photojournalist Frank West’s bloody fight against a ranging horde of zombies in Dead Rising, which will be available from January 16 through February 15. Getting slightly less time on the service, Breakdown, a suspenseful action title which sees Derrick Cole battle out of a mysterious lab using newfound powers, will be available on Games with Gold from January 16 to January 31.

While it is exciting that Little Nightmares and Dead Rising are coming to the service soon, be sure to check out this month’s Games with Gold titles before they are gone. Xbox players still have until the end of December to pick up The Raven and Stacking.
