The collaboration was announced by a Microsoft's Xbox Cloud Gaming service.
It's no secret that the Xbox brand has struggled to make a dent in the Japanese market, especially now, when the Nintendo Switch is dominating the region. Xbox systems might struggle in Japan, but a paid streaming service outstripping Amazon and Google's offerings could be successful in the region, especially when it's still difficult to purchase new-gen systems like the Xbox Series X/S in Japan. Sega could be the key to helping Microsoft and the Xbox brand break into Japan, as the publisher's roster of homegrown intellectual properties have worldwide appeal.
