The Watch S1 series is its line of smartwatches designed to take on watches from Samsung and Apple. The models under the series have a round display, run a proprietary OS called MIUI Watch, and work with both Android and iOS devices. Thankfully, like its fitness trackers, its smartwatches usually get a global release. The Watch S1 Pro was announced alongside the new MIX Fold 2 foldable smartphone.

To differentiate the Watch S1 Pro from the Watch S1, the former is slightly bigger. In addition, the Pro's case has a different lug design and swaps the two round buttons on the side for a digital crown and a pill-shaped button. Both watches have sapphire glass-protected displays, a stainless steel case, and a 5 ATM water-resistant rating. The Pro also has sapphire glass covering its heart rate sensor and a bottom shell with a ceramic-like finish. The Watch S1 Pro can be purchased in Black (with a fluoroelastomer strap) and Silver (with a brown calfskin leather strap) while the Watch S1 is available in Obsidian Black (with a fluoroelastomer strap) and Silver (with a brown or blue calfskin leather strap).

The Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro's bigger size is as a result of its slightly larger 1.47-inch 480 × 480 AMOLED display. In contrast, the Watch S1 has a 1.43-inch 466 × 466 AMOLED display. Both have for Always-on Display (AOD) and a refresh rate of 60Hz. Xiaomi doesn't say what chip powers the Watch S1, but states that the Watch S1 Pro contains a 12nm high-performance low-power chip. It appears Xiaomi has once again skipped Qualcomm's wearable chipsets with its new smartwatch. There is also no mention of the RAM and storage capacity of either model.

In of health and activity tracking, both watches are very similar with all-day heart rate and blood oxygen level measurements, sleep monitoring, and the ability to track 117 different sports modes. However, the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro also features a skin temperature sensor, giving it an edge over the standard model as well as competing products like the Oppo Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro. Then again, it is missing AOD turned on, the battery life drops to 5 days. The Xiaomi Watch S1 has a slightly smaller 470mAh battery that will last up to 12 days in typical usage mode. Both watches wireless charging, but Xiaomi warns that s shouldn't charge with a wireless charging pad for safety reasons. Thankfully, they both ship with a magnetic wireless charger.

Xiaomi's smartwatches are compatible with Android and iOS devices, unlike the Galaxy Watch 5 that only works with Android devices. The new Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro is priced at ¥1499 (~$222) for the black version and ¥1599 (~$237) for the silver variant with leather straps. In comparison, the non-pro model starts at ¥1099 (~$163) and goes up to ¥1149 (~$170) for the silver colorway with leather straps. Xiaomi is yet to confirm a global release of the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, but if it does, it should cost more than the Xiaomi Watch S1 which launched for $269.
