Kinds of Kindness is the third feature-length collaboration between filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone's Academy Award win for Poor Things also bodes well for the comedy's future, as one of the best aspects about Poor Things was its off-beat sense of humor.
Although an incredibly versatile actress, some of Emma Stone's best movies have been comedies, which speak even greater volumes to Kinds of Kindness's potential as another acclaimed film. While there aren't a lot of plot details available, the cast consists of Stone, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemmons, Margaret Qualley, and Hong Chau. While the cast will feature many first-time collaborations between Lanthimos and Kinds of Kindness's cast, the comedy marks the third time Stone and Lanthimos have worked together. However, the teaser trailer already demonstrates how it will be different from their previous collaborations.

Kinds Of Kindness Will Be Much Different Than Every Previous Yorgos Lanthimos & Emma Stone Movies
Kinds of Kindness is set in modern times.
The common thread between Lanthimos and Stone's previous collaborations together is the fact that both The Favourite and Poor Things are set during the 18th and 19th Century respectively, and they address similar things thematically, such as women's suffrage, politics, and English power structures. Kinds of Kindness is set during modern times, and appears to address a wider range of issues featuring a diverse range of characters. As such, it is already the most distinct movie in the duo's history despite only providing viewers glimpses of its content.
Additionally, Kinds of Kindness is distinct from The Favourite and Poor Things in that it favors highly-saturated colors and close-ups of many of the actors' and actress's faces. The Favourite favored elaborate sets, costumes, and makeup that all contributed to the film feeling like a slice of life from 1700s England. While Poor Things did feature many instances of highly-saturated photography, it also juxtaposed it with entire black and white sequences to help enhance its themes. With Kinds of Kindness on the way, it looks like it could potentially be another successful entry in Stone and Lanthimos's professional relationship.

All Of Emma Stone & Yorgos Lanthimos's Collaborations So Far
Lanthimos and Stone have collaborated on two feature-length movies and a short film.
2018's The Favourite marked the first time Lanthimos and Stone collaborated, and despite not enjoying the same critical plaudits as Poor Things, demonstrated a side of Stone not yet seen before. The duo's 2022 short film, Bleat, featured black and white cinematography that ultimately proved to be more of an exercise in artistic expression than anything more narratively driven. The Academy Award-winning Poor Things not only blended the best aspects of both of their previous collaborations, but it also earned Stone an Oscar, while providing glimpses into what audiences can expect from Lanthimos and Emma Stone in Kinds of Kindness.
