The best part about superhero teams, at least as a reader, is getting to see the bonds and relationships of the heroes we love, and this definitely holds true when it comes to the of Young Justice. It seems the next issue of Young Justice, Young Justice #17, will be focusing heavily on the relationship between three of its founding, and most popular .
While most superhero teams are formed purely as the result of a large scale disaster, the roots of the Young Justice team dig a little deeper. The team was formed as a result of some of the world's top sidekicks being rejected from ing the Justice League. As they were tired of living in the shadows of the heroes that trained them, and felt grown enough to branch out on their own, the sidekicks broke off in an act of rebellion to solve a mystery themselves. When the mystery leads to the discovery of Superboy, the heroes finally see the potential in their sidekicks, and realize that a new covert team could operate outside of the Justice League, tackling issues higher profile heroes simply can't be involved with. Set to serve as a replacement for the now grown Teen Titans, the team fills the gap between sidekick and full grown hero. Originally formed by Robin, Impulse, and Superboy, the team is ever growing and evolving, with new constantly ing and leaving.
Coming straight from the truths and revelations revealed to Impulse in the last issue, it will be interesting to see how this shakes up the friendships of the team. The issue is set to explore the relationships of Impulse, Robin, and Superboy, and how their motivations and interests have grown and changed with them over time. Have the founding boys finally grown apart? Not much else it known, although the cover art depicts two versions of each of the heroes, leaving one to wonder if perhaps the story will show alternate timelines for each of the boys.
