The latest Young Sheldon season 6 clip shows Missy and George sharing a tender moment. CBS' current number one comedy tackles Sheldon's childhood in Texas before he moved and settled in Pasadena, as seen in The Big Bang Theory. Despite having a titular character, Young Sheldon has made a conscious effort to diversify its storytelling by also developing the rest of the Cooper family.
All core of Sheldon's clan were already established characters before they properly debuted thanks to The Big Bang Theory. Young Sheldon, however, further delves into their individual stories simultaneously with the family's collective arc. While Sheldon's relationship with his father is more complicated, Missy is clearly fond of George, especially since she usually finds herself at odds with Mary. Early on in Young Sheldon season 5, Missy and George's special bond was highlighted, but as the year went on, it got sidelined to focus on other plot lines. Luckily, it seems like season 6 will once again revisit this fan-favorite pairing.
Taking to her official TikTok , Revord shares a sweet video of her and Barber while in the middle of filming Young Sheldon season 6. While the actor doesn't share any information about what's really happening in the scene, the clip highlights its cast's close relationship in real life, something that mirrors Missy's dynamic with her dad. Because of The Big Bang Theory's established canon, CBS has no choice but to ultimately tackle George's downfall in Young Sheldon. That includes his cheating scandal - something the family comedy has been gradually setting up for a while now - and his subsequent death. These are very sensitive topics to tackle and will be extremely tricky to execute, but unless Young Sheldon wants to totally disregard continuity, then it's imperative they move forward with it. Of course, the death of the Cooper patriarch will be devastating to the rest of the family. But, it's safe to say it will be extra difficult for Missy, who shares a special bond with her dad. Seeing that Revord and Barber are just as close in real life somehow makes George's death so much sadder.
When exactly The Big Bang Theory spinoff chooses to actively develop George's fall from grace is unknown at this point. The Young Sheldon season 6 premiere synopsis reveals he will continue to be the dependable father he usually is when he bails Georgie and Meemaw out of prison. But beyond that, it's uncertain what's next for him. For what it's worth, however, it seems like CBS is leaning on his bond with the Cooper kids, as seen in the aforementioned clip. It will be interesting to see if he will also have similar moments with Georgie and Sheldon.
