Stephen Graham, who is currently appearing in Peaky Blinders season 6, has been cast in Disney+’s sports biopic Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s Daisy Ridley. Graham, a long-time character actor on British television shows including This is England and Line of Duty, is now a rising star in Hollywood. Graham’s recent big-screen accomplishments include roles in Scorsese’s The Irishman and Marvel’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Now, Deadline reports that Graham has ed the cast of Disney’s film Young Woman and The Sea. The movie, which will debut on Disney+, stars Ridley as Trudy Ederle, the first woman to swim the English Channel in 1926. Norwegian director Joachim Ronning, who directed Graham in 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, is on board to helm the true story film.

Graham has recently ed the cast of BBC’s Peaky Blinders for its final season and had been nominated for a BAFTA award for his role in the intense kitchen-based drama Boiling Point. Ridley, who is globally recognized for her starring role in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, has several projects on the horizon following her recent appearance in Chaos Walking. The actress, who has previously spoken out about the pros and cons of fan-reaction to her character Rey, hasn’t ruled out a future role in a big franchise like the MCU, with many online fan-casting her as Spider-Woman. Young Woman and the Sea enters production soon, with a release planned exclusively on Disney+.
