It is widely regarded among fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime that the Battle City arc is one of the best in the series. It isn't a huge filler mess, it advances the plot, and the Egyptian God Cards make their first appearance to really spice things up. Everyone is on their A-game for this arc, including Seto Kaiba.

Kaiba has quite a few duels in this season, and most of them are super fun to watch. However, some rise above the rest, with one being one of the most iconic in the entire series. This list starts off pretty humbly, with a duel that most fans might not even taking place.

Koji Nagumo

Obelisk The Tormentor against Marik in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Kaiba's duel with Koji Nagumo is nothing more than a chance for him to test out his brand-new Obelisk the Tormentor card. Mokuba stumbles upon Koji, who is breaking the rules of Battle City by searching through his opponent's deck for additional cards to take. Kaiba challenges him to a duel as a result, and somehow summons Obelisk the first turn and obliterates the poor guy. Sure, the duel didn't make any logical sense, but it was more about the power that was now flowing through Kaiba with his new card. He certainly gave the monster a pretty great entrance.

The Rare Hunters

Marik's Rare hunters in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Yugi and Kaiba actually have two tag duels in this arc, but the first one is pretty similar to his duel with Koji. Actually following the rules this time, Kaiba still summons his Obelisk the Tormentor incredibly quickly, and while Yugi is off setting up a cute little Kuriboh combo, Kaiba uses a Fist of Fury or two to take down their opponents before they even had a chance to counterattack.

This is yet another duel that really wasn't all that relevant in the grand scheme of things. Here is where things actually start to matter.

Ishizu Ishtar

Ishizu Ishtar duels Kaiba at the Battle City semi-finals.

Ishizu duels Kaiba during the Battle City Finals, and her necklace informs her that she's going to win the duel and go on to face off against the likes of Yugi and Marik. She has planted a bomb inside of Obelisk that will go off once it attacks, winning her the duel. However, the Millennium Rod interferes with fate and tells Kaiba to use Blue-Eyes instead. While he isn't quite sure as to why he does so, he listens. This ends up being the correct call, as he wins this way. This duel was interesting due to Ishizu's Millennium item, but there isn't that much action.

The Four-Way Duel

The four-way duel is how the final four duelists in the Battle City Finals decide what order they'll be competing in. Throughout this duel, everyone has different motives. Kaiba wants to go against Yugi to win Slifer before facing off against Ra. Yugi wants to take on Marik, and Joey wants to do the same. Marik just wants to cause problems.

While this duel is fun because of everyone's different goals, as no one is eliminated during this duel, it doesn't really have the stakes that the rest of Battle City has, which leads to its somewhat lower ranking on this list,

Joey Wheeler

Joey Wheeler and Seto Kaiba side by side in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Joey and Kaiba face off for third place at Joey's request, which Kaiba obliges to somewhat begrudgingly. While Joey just wants to have a friendly duel, Kaiba is, as one would expect, save for riling up Joey.

Lumis & Umbra

Umbra and Lumis in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Lumis and Umbra are Rare Hunters that are sent to defeat Yugi and Kaiba in a shadow duel in which the losers will fall through the roof of the building that they're standing on and, not fall to their deaths, but fall into the Shadow Realm. Sure 4kids, sure. While Lumis and Umbra do manage to take the lead, once Kaiba begins to trust Yugi and work with him rather than against him, the duo easily manages to take it back and win the duel. This might be the second place duel on the list, but it doesn't even come close to touching the No. 1 spot.

Yugi Muto

Yugi Vs Kaiba in Battle City

Yugi and Kaiba face off in the Battle City Finals, both armed with their own God Card. This duel is just... it's great. The two trade blow for blow, not a single turn is wasted. They spend their turns weakening one another's God Cards before the other whips out a shocking trap card that This duel is really one for the ages. Without a doubt, this is the best duel from Kaiba in Battle City.
