Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne play Neighbors' main couple while Zac Efron heads up the fraternity as its president, Teddy Sanders.

Moviegoers loved the raunchy gags, particularly praising Efron for moving beyond the Disney stereotype through his bad boy performance.

Charlie St. Cloud (2010) - 6.4

Though the 2010 drama was disliked by critics who found the narrative to be too sugary, viewers were happy to see Efron is a fresh post-High School Musical role. Sure, it wasn’t crazy original, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

Efron lent his voice talents to this 2012 computer-animated musical based on The Lorax.

The film tells of Ted (Efron), 12-year-old boy who lives in a place without nature. Hoping to catch the affections of Audrey, he discovers that he must bring her the thing she wants the most, a Truffula tree. However, in order to track it down, he must first confront the furry, orange guardian of the forest.

While the story was simplistic, it was nonetheless cute, funny, and attractive to young audiences.

The Lucky One (2012) - 6.5

Yes, Efron starred in far more than one romance. In 2012, he co-lead this Nicholas Sparks drama alongside Taylor Schilling.

The Lucky One follows a US Marine (Efron) who ends up falling in love with a woman (Schilling) whose photograph he holds while in Iraq. It's not long before he sets out to track her down.

Like Charlie St. Cloud, critics weren’t big on the story for being full of melodramatic clichés. Sure, it was formulaic — but that didn’t stop viewers from staying interested.

Hairspray (2007) - 6.6

The Broadway musical known as Hairspray was turned into a big screen production in 2007.

The narrative tells of Tracy Turnblad, a teen in 1960s Baltimore who auditions for a televised dancing show. After winning, she soon realizes that there is a dark side to center stage.

Efron worked his way into the film as the lead male dancer of The Corny Collins Show and a potential love interest for Tracy. Hairspray was praised as a whole for being colorful, energetic, and full of fun.

The indie film was praised by critics and general audiences alike for its powerful performances and engrossing story.

Liberal Arts (2012) - 6.7

This 2012 comedy-drama tells of a 35-year-old literature-loving college issions officer who falls for a spirited 19-year-old college student.

While Josh Radnor and Elizabeth Olsen star in Liberal Arts, and Efron s as a student named Nat.

Fans loved the bright yet layered story. Sure, Efron’s part was small — but it was nice to see him show up in a quirky role.

The Disaster Artist (2017) - 7.4

Efron took on a ing role in this 2017 biographical comedy about a hopeful filmmaker and actor who head to L.A. to create a film called The Room.

Efron portrays Dan Janjigian, one of the actors in The Room.

The Disaster Artist received a standing ovation at its premiere. It has since been praised for its humor, charm, and compelling plot.

The Greatest Showman (2017) - 7.6

Topping off the list as Efron’s greatest film to date is The Greatest Showman. This fan-favorite recounts a fictionalized version of P.T. Barnum’s attempt to create a circus full of the weird and the wonderful.
