Summary
- The Legend of Zelda games like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom offer a wide range of outfit options for cosplayers to create.
- Eleo_cosplay showcased a detailed Barbarian Armor set complete with a Lynel Crusher, enhancing the cosplay experience.
- The cosplay even mimics the outfit's finer details, like the warpaint that Link uses while wearing the Barbarian Armor.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has provided many people with new reasons to love the series, as did its sequel in Tears of the Kingdom. One reason that arguably stands above all others, though, is that the two games give Link numerous new outfits to don, which means cosplayers can recreate many of these designs to show their love of the titles.
One such person is Reddit eleo_cosplay, who posted their incredibly detailed Barbarian Armor set, complete with a Lynel Crusher for further effect. The Breath of the Wild cosplay is both beautiful and intimidating. They even added the unique war paint that the outfit inherently comes with when attached to Link.
While the detail on the Barbarian Armor Set is impressive, the Lynel Crusher that eleo_cosplay wields is equally impressive. As the picture shows, it’s as big as they are, and definitely resembles the weapon that Lynels use in BOTW and TOTK, making it a standout accessory to the striking ensemble.

One Year Later, How Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's Legacy Compares To BOTW's
It's been one year since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which was critically praised. Why don't we talk about it like BotW?
Barbarian Link Is Not One To Mess With
Especially When He Has A Lynel Crusher
While the Lynel Crusher isn't something that is attached to the armor in either BOTW or TOTK, it makes sense that eleo_cosplay would add the item to the ensemble. After all, it's one of the most powerful weapons in the games. The Barbarian Armor also enhances Link's strength when worn and can get even stronger via upgrades. Lynels are fierce foes in both entries, being some of the hardest enemies that don't achieve boss fight status. As such, having a Lynel Crusher with fully upgraded armor would make the fights against the beasts at least a little easier.
Cosplays inspired by these games and other Legend of Zelda titles are quite popular. Zelda and Link are perennially popular cosplay subjects, but even less famous Zelda characters have dedicated fans recreating their looks, like Skull Kid wearing Majora's Mask and even an adorable Bokoblin cosplay. The breadth of characters that the franchise has provided gives people numerous opportunities to showcase not just their cosplay skills but the love they have for certain characters.
BOTW still resonates with people several years after its release, as this cosplay shows. However, the game has also been the source of many rumors as of late, with one claiming that Breath of the Wild could receive a remaster on the Switch 2 platform. If so, people will have another reason to seek out the Barbarian Armor and wear it.
