The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom introduces a new mechanic to the game. Instead of fighting with a sword, players are given a Tri-Rod and accompanied by a companion known as Tri. As players play as Princess Zelda for the first time in a mainline Zelda game, they must rely on the Tri-Rod to overcome challenges and fight monsters.
The Tri-Rod lets Princess Zelda scan certain items and monsters to create echoes of them. Using the Tri-Rod again, Princess Zelda can summon these echoes to do her bidding or help her navigate Hyrule. There are many items to scan, some more useful than others. So, what are the best echoes to get early on?
10 Old Bed
Build Platforms Or Take A Snooze
Forget the table — the first echo Princess Zelda learns while figuring her way out of Hyrule Castle. The table is nice initially, as it allows Princess Zelda to stack and climb higher up. But the bed is a nice upgrade. While the table is short and square, the old bed is longer, providing a longer platform for Princess Zelda to climb onto. It also gives more room to stack. Instead of stacking directly on top of one another, you can stack them half off, creating a staircase, which you can’t do with the Table Echo.

As demonstrated in NintendoUK's video, The Old Bed Echo takes just one triangle away from Tri. So, at the start, Princess Zelda can summon three. As Tri grows more powerful and gains more triangles, Zelda can create even more beds at one time. Like the table, the Old Bed Echo is found within Hyrule Castle. Aside from using these as platforms, Princess Zelda can rest in them and restore hearts.
9 Trampoline
Jump To New Heights
The Trampoline Echo is also helpful in reaching high places. Princess Zelda’s jump isn’t the highest. Using the trampoline allows her to jump slightly higher, though not by much. However, you can jump even higher if you stack two trampolines on each other or even one trampoline on top of a table or bed.

Trampolines cost one triangle to summon. The original trampoline can be found in Suthorn Village, near the well, as shown in Quick Tips' video. A child NPC will be standing nearby. Approach the trampoline and scan it to learn the echo. The nice thing about the trampoline is that Princess Zelda can reach shorter ledges and platforms using just one instead of having to stack two or three tables or beds.
8 Keese
Summon Bats To Attack Or Glide
The Keese is one of the earliest monsters you’ll face in Echoes of Wisdom. Any seasoned Zelda player will recognize these nuisance bats as they’ve been in every mainline Zelda game since the Nintendo Entertainment System days. In most games, the Keese are annoying pests but are easy to kill. While the easy-to-kill part hasn’t changed, the Keese have another purpose.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - 10 Best Smoothie Recipes
Smoothies are more than just healing items in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Here are the best smoothie recipes and their effects.
Summoning one, Princess Zelda can latch on and glide down from high platforms. The Keese can also fight on Princess Zelda’s behalf. However, like in previous games, the Keese are weak and easily killed. However, most enemies are weak early on, and summoning three Keese at once can usually take them down. Or, at least, provide a distraction while Princess Zelda flees.

The Keese Echo is another echo that takes just one triangle to use. They’re found early on in the Beach Cave, like in Jun Guides' video. To obtain the echo, Princess Zelda must kill one. Create a Rock Echo to toss at a Keese or use a nearby rock to do the same. Either way, the Keese will die, leaving behind an echo that Princess Zelda can scan.
7 Strandtula
Climb Up Walls With Strandtula's Thread
Suthorn Ruins is the first Dungeon you’ll come across in Echoes of Wisdom. It’s not a hard dungeon by any means, but it has some decent echoes to find. One echo is the Strandtula Echo. Another enemy, the Strandtula, is a spider that dangles from a web. Once an echo, Princess Zelda can summon the Strandtula to create the same thread it hangs from. The thread can be climbed to access higher platforms.

Unlike the echoes before, the Strandtula takes two triangles to use. These spiders can be found in the third room on 1F of the Suthorn Ruins. Move onto the center platform and drop something heavy on the Strandtula. The Strandtula will fall to the ground. Summon a monster to attack the Strandtula until it’s dead. Collect its echo.
6 Ignizol
Burn Grass Patches And Monsters With Ignizol
Zol comes in various types. The first you encounter is a green Zol, found in Suthorn Beach. It’s weak and slow and has no unique qualities. However, the Ignizol has something that sets it apart. Though it’s weak in combat, too, the Ignizol comes with a flame on top of its head. Thus, anything Ignizol touches burns. My favorite part of the Ignizol is summoning it in a grass field and watching the entire field catch fire, leaving behind rupees in its wake. It’s an effective way to eliminate large patches of grass and weeds.
Be careful not to get too close to the fire, as it will burn you too!
However, the Ignizol is helpful beyond just burning grass. It can also burn monsters. Monsters hiding in grass fields are quickly burned as the grass burns. Other monsters, like the Strandtula, are weak to flames. Throw an Ignizol at its web and watch the web and the Strandtula burn. There will also be times when Princess Zelda needs to light torches, so the Ignizol is a must-have.

Ignizol is in a few places. The first place you can find one is in the first Suthorn Forest Cave Princess Zelda comes across. Throw rocks or pots at it until it’s dead, then collect its echo. The echo requires two triangles to use.
5 Cloud
Build Infinite Cloud Stepping Stones
The Cloud Echo in Echoes of Wisdom is probably my favorite in of platform-making echoes. While it only produces a small area to stand upon, what’s nice about the Cloud Echo is that it doesn’t require anything beneath it. Unlike the table and bed, which both require ground, the cloud floats, so you can stick one anywhere in the air. While the Cloud Echo requires two triangles to summon, you should have four triangles to spare by the time you receive the echo, which means you can make two clouds simultaneously.
The Cloud Echo is temporary and will disappear on its own after a short duration. Make sure to quickly use your clouds in succession so that they don’t disappear on you.
To use this echo effectively, create one cloud and step on it, then create a second one in the direction you need to go. Up, down, or across doesn’t matter. Hop onto the second cloud, then create another, replacing the one you just left. Doing it this way means you’ll have infinite clouds to step on, and you can reach any height you want.

Stilled Hebra Mountain |

To obtain the Cloud Echo, you’ll need to visit Hebra Mountain and go into the Stilled version. Clouds are everywhere. Scan one to receive the Cloud Echo. Then, you can enjoy chaining these clouds infinitely to climb high or cross chasms.
4 Spear Moblin
Summon A Spear Moblin To Attack Monsters
The Spear Moblin is the first decent monster echo you’ll receive. It’s not the greatest, but it’ll be better than the Zol’s and Keese’s you’ve encountered thus far. The Spear Moblin uses its spear to attack enemies both near and far, including high up. I killed the Spear Moblin by summoning a few Zol’s and letting them attack one together, but you can also summon other monster echoes or even the rock echo and throw rocks at it.

The Spear Moblin Echo in Echoes of Wisdom costs two triangles, but once you level Tri up to where it has four triangles, you can summon two of these monsters at a time. For enemies with shields, it’s helpful to summon one as a distraction and then unleash a second one from behind. Find the Spear Moblin in Suthorn Forest.
3 Crow
Use The Crow To Paraglide From Platforms
The Crow is another flying-type enemy. Like the Keese, the Crow can attack air-borne, ground-level, and water-based enemies. It’s slightly stronger than the Keese is, so it’ll be more effective in taking down foes. Plus, upon the first attack, crows will knock rupees from their target. Princess Zelda can also latch onto the crow and use it to glide from platforms.
When going against crows, they can also knock rupees from your pockets, so be careful when approaching them and do your best to avoid their swoops.
Crows need two triangles to summon. You’ll find them in Hyrule Field, north of Lake Hylia and near the Gerudo Desert. Since they are flying monsters, attack them with the Keese. Summon as many as you can to attack the crow.

The crow is more powerful and can easily take down one or two of your Keese’s. Just keep summoning them to replace those killed until the crow itself is beaten. Then, collect its echo for a more powerful flying companion.
2 Darknut
Take Down Stronger Enemies With Darknut
Darknut is an armor-clad enemy with an axe that can deal impressive damage when fighting by Princess Zelda’s side. The only caveat to the Darknut Echo is that Darknut moves slowly. As such, the Darknut Echo is not always an effective choice to go against enemies that are quicker on their feet or even multiple enemies at once. Still, it’s more effective than the weaker echoes Princess Zelda has obtained up to this point. Thus, it’s worth having.

Darknut is found in the Suthorn Ruins on 2F in Echoes of Wisdom. Beat one using multiple Zol’s or Keese’s, then collect its echo. Due to its strength, the Darknut Echo requires three triangles, so you won’t be able to summon more than one for quite some time. Still, one might just be enough to take down a foe or two that Princess Zelda’s other echoes struggle with.
1 Carrot
Summon Your Horse From Anywhere
The Carrot Echo serves one purpose, but it’s a useful purpose. Princess Zelda will receive a horse early on. Unfortunately, it can be easy to lose track of the horse. Perhaps you need to teleport to a waypoint, leaving the horse behind. Fortunately, the Carrot Echo will reunite you and your steed. Use it, and Princess Zelda will summon the horse to where she is.
Princess Zelda can choose from a few different horse colors.
Unlike the previous echoes on this list, the Carrot Echo isn’t just found; you don’t have to beat an enemy to receive it. Instead, you’ll need to complete a side quest from Impa, northwest of Hyrule Castle. The side quest involves tending to a carrot patch, at which point Princess Zelda can pull a carrot from the ground and learn its echo.

As Princess Zelda continues her journey to save her father, Link, and all of Hyrule, she will encounter many more echoes. As she learns these echoes, continues fighting against monsters and imposters, and visits the Stilled world, Tri will grow in power, providing more triangles for Princess Zelda to summon more echoes. The echoes Princess Zelda starts out with aren’t the best in the game, but they’ll get the job done as you start and may even provide some use later on.
Be vigilant in exploring Hyrule because some echoes are easy to miss. The 10 echoes above are easy to find and easy to use. They will help you as you progress through The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
