Following in the footsteps of its predecessors, when Echoes of Wisdom releases.

Amiibo can be extremely popular as collector's items alone, but their more practical side is also noteworthy. While rarely providing anything truly game-changing, Amiibo can still unlock a range of bonus items, effects, and even entire mechanics in a range of games. Naturally, this includes several Legend of Zelda games, with there being extensive Echoes of Wisdom is simply following this tradition, although its own new mechanics have naturally prompted the creation of unique Amiibo rewards.

Echoes Of Wisdom Offers Clothing And Other Rewards For Scanning Zelda Amiibo

Every Legend Of Zelda Amiibo Is Compatible

Using Amiibo in Echoes of Wisdom can be used to obtain a variety of items, including new clothes for Zelda to wear. Echoes of Wisdom will already offer a variety of outfits for Zelda, but there is the implication that these will be Amiibo-exclusive variations, in the same way that Amiibo unlock unique Paraglider fabrics in Tears of the Kingdom. In addition to clothing, Amiibo will also provide Zelda with various smoothie ingredients according to Nintendo’s British webpage for Echoes of Wisdom, which will presumably be repeatable rewards for scanning various Amiibo every day.

A full list of compatible Amiibo can be found on the Japanese Nintendo website, which shows a broad range of characters from past Zelda titles. More specifically, every Legend of Zelda-related Amiibo will provide Princess Zelda with some sort of reward when scanned. Naturally, there are many variations of Link and Zelda in their various incarnations among these figures, but other characters represented in Amiibo include BOTW’s four Champions and two versions of Ganondorf. The full list of Amiibo compatible with Echoes of Wisdom (in reverse release order) is therefore as follows:

Although information is still scarce on the precise items rewarded by each individual Legend of Zelda Amiibo, it is likely that the bonus clothing unlocked will share a thematic connection to the relevant Amiibo. For example, Echoes of Wisdom’s Zelda could gain the outfits of previous Princesses through scanning Amiibo featuring them. In the same vein, similar outfits based on those of other Zelda characters are also a strong possibility, as is apparel with patterns making broader references to the contents and themes of previous games.

Amiibo Rewards Should Be Treated As Non-Essential Supplements To Echoes Of Wisdom

Amiibo Will Only Grant Ultimately Unnecessary Bonuses

Of course, it is probable that Echoes of Wisdom will inspire its own Amiibo in the near future, and this list could thus grow to incorporate any such new figures. However, this is not to say that Echoes of Wisdom’s own inspired Amiibo will necessarily have the greatest impact on gameplay; BOTW’s own best Amiibo was arguablyTwilight Princess’s Wolf Link, after all. Additionally, it is worth keeping in mind that the larger the list of compatible Amiibo is, the less likely it is for any one player to be able to unlock all of the available content.

It is a fact that Amiibo can be expensive to buy, especially when attempting to purchase older products on the secondary market. This in turn can make them very hard to collect, which can naturally be frustrating the more content is locked behind them. For example, obtaining Epona in Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild is reliant on using certain Amiibo. With Echoes of Wisdom’s trailers already offering glimpses of a horse clearly modeled after BOTW’s royal white stallion, it is possible that Epona may soon be ed by another steed locked behind Amiibo.

On the other hand, Amiibo could indeed be simply limited to providing clothing and extra consumable items in Echoes of Wisdom. While the former being unobtainable through regular play will undoubtedly be frustrating for some people, it is still preferable to more complex features being locked away. As enjoyable as it can be to see Link ed by his canine alter-ego or his iconic horse in Breath of the Wild, many can only enjoy this gameplay second-hand, through videos online. It would be much better for Echoes of Wisdom’s own Amiibo-exclusive content to not go further than purely cosmetic additions.

Collecting Amiibo Will Enhance The Echoes Of Wisdom Experience

Amiibo Are Not Required, Though

Although more fashionable players will undoubtedly appreciate the wider range of clothing that Amiibo will offer in Echoes of Wisdom, the fact remains that such items will not be necessary to complete the game. While the experience of playing EoW may be broadened with access to a large collection of Amiibo, it would be absurd for gameplay to be legitimately hindered without such peripherals. As such, nobody should be concerned about missing out on important parts of Echoes of Wisdom without owning Amiibo, as Skyward Sword HD’s own use of Amiibo did.

Of course, for those who do collect Amiibo, Echoes of Wisdom is simply the latest in a long line of titles to reward purchasing them. In addition to being beautiful figures in their own right,Amiibo effectively function as reusable keys to extra content and resources. Naturally, this can make playing any game easier, with an excellent example here being that making use of the varied benefits of EoW’s smoothies will undoubtedly be much easier with extra ingredients.

Amiibo are a great way to compliment the core experience of playing The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. While not everybody will be able to obtain the content they provide, these figures will help to both ease Princess Zelda’s quest to save Hyrule and help her look her best in the process. The fact that every Amiibo related to the franchise is compatible with the game also suggests that a large variety of unique items will be available to collect, making ownership of even one Amiibo near-guaranteed to give people access to a special bonus.
