If you are struggling with the Vocavor Boss in the Jabul Ruins in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, there are ways to make this fight much easier. There are two main ways to fight Vocavor: fast and risky versus more methodical. This guide will cover both options, but you must be well-prepared if things go south. If you are, you should have no more trouble facing Vocavor, and you can move on to the next boss.

All bosses in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom have their own challenges and their own tricks to beat them. While some bosses present a greater difficulty level, that does not mean that the others are easy, just easier in comparison. The Jabul Ruins can be a very fast temple if you want them to be, and if so, you should arrive at the Vocavor fight-ready and raring to go.

How To Defeat Vocavor Fast

Moving Quickly

The Jabul Ruins can be conquered in about five minutes, even with the Vocavor Boss Fight, if you use the skip and method shown by Austin John Plays. If you do, you will find that the battle is going to be over fast, one way or another. that this way is going to be risky, so you need to have the timing right. If you do not feel comfortable with that, a more methodical and traditional way of fighting this boss follows below.

In the quick and dirty way, you will want to follow Vocavor immediately as soon as the boss fight starts. Get over him and switch to Swordfighter form fast, hitting the bubbles on his back to stun him and keep hitting him a couple of times. When he turns around to move the other way, please do it again; that should be the end of the first phase of the fight.

Even if you fall onto the grass, as described in the next paragraph, he might still be stunned long enough for you to get back on top of him and hit him at least once more.

After that, a piece of land will be in between two water pillars. Swim to the left and all the way up and do the exact same thing, trying not to fall off and onto the land. He is then going to swim to the right and down, so stay on the land and wait for him to beneath you to smack the bubbles and hit his back again. This should be the end of this Echoes of Wisdom, and you will not have to do anything else.

Beating Vocavor The Methodical Way

Being More Cautious

If you want to be more cautious or miss the timing of the more reckless swimming above, you can try this method instead. Make sure to have a Chompfin equipped as your primary echo in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This echo will be able to attack Vocavor for you, and it might even get above Vocavor and manage to hit the bubbles - although this will be more due to luck for you.

Phase 1

You may want to have some power-restoring smoothies from Echoes of Wisdom on hand for this fight as if you get caught in a whirlpool, it will help you restore your health and keep your energy full. The main thing to before going into the fight is that Vocavor will keep sending whirlpools at you if he is not stunned, so stay out of the way and keep moving in a slower fight.

The whirlpools will move in an up, down, up, down pattern, so you can predict where they are going and in what direction. Eventually, Vocavor will get tired, and this will temporarily stun him, at which point you can switch to Swordfighter form and start slashing at his back. Keep summoning the Chompfins throughout this fight, as they can at least do some damage to him while you are swimming around.

If you do not manage to remove the bubbles and he recovers, he will swim away fast, and you will have to avoid a flurry of projectiles sent your way. You can do so by hiding under one of the platforms.

After you hit his back, he will let out a hard-to-avoid spin attack, which you will have to dodge fast to avoid. This is where having a few smoothies will come in handy. After the initial round, it will start again, and you can repeat your actions to remove the bubbles from his back and strike his weak point.

Phase 2

In the next phase, water will be removed from part of the arena, which makes it more challenging to reach Vocavor and avoid the whirlpools. You will want to stay in one of the water columns while Vocavor sends these whirlpools so that you can swim up and down to prevent them. Eventually, he will send out a massive one, which will exhaust him once more.

This time, he will become exhausted with his back toward the ground. You can do a couple of things at this point. You could summon a water block and use that to reach his back and slash at it with your Swordfighter form. Or, you can use your wand to pull the bubbles off his back one by one. This will be slower, but it is safer, and you will not be in the way when he attacks. They give you a heart when they pop.

He will fall to the ground once all the bubbles pop, and you can attack his unguarded back with your sword. He will eventually recover, and you will have to repeat the above process to do it again. You might want those power-restoring smoothies to keep you at full strength.

At this point in the battle, the whirlpools do not always follow that same up-down pattern, so keep an eye out and stay on your toes.

Again, in this phase, you can use a Chompfin to damage him at least some damage. Eventually, the fight will end, you will receive an entire heart piece, and Tri will level up. This level-up will allow Tri to summon another echo, enabling you to continue your journey in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom that much stronger.
