The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could fix a major cooking problem that occurred in the previous Zelda game, Breath of the Wild. Cooking is one of many new features introduced to the Zelda series in BOTW, and it allows players to use various ingredients to create food that can replenish Link’s Life Gauge. Players can also craft Elixirs that can grant special effects, which can aid Link in combat or exploration.

In Breath of the Wild, players need to find a cooking pot in order to unleash Link’s culinary skills. Thankfully, they are easily encountered throughout Hyrule, with numerous pots scattered in various towns, horse stables, and enemy camps. Although Link can make regular dishes from ordinary ingredients, such as milk and egg, the Hylian can also cook Monster dishes in BOTW. These foods tend to have purple color and can be made by adding Monster Extract, which can randomly influence the dish’s effects. Although cooking gives an extra layer of complexity to the game, it has one glaring issue that could be addressed in Tears of the Kingdom.

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Could Add A Cookbook

Players can discover 118 recipes in Breath of the Wild, but the game lacks any feature to record them. The activity that could have been enjoyable and relaxing turned into an annoying and tiring process, where players scramble to what ingredients they need to make a certain dish. It meant often, players were stuck creating one specific meal instead of trying other foods, simply for ease of ing them. Tears of the Kingdom could easily fix this issue by adding a cookbook that records every recipe Link has made.

TOTK Could Feature A Side Quest To Obtain A Cookbook

The new feature could be integrated into the game’s story by adding a side quest into BOTW's sequel. Link could meet a character who loves cooking, and they could challenge the Hylian to create a difficult recipe, similar to the small side quest from the Old Man where he tries to how to make Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry. After the character is happy with Link’s work, they could grant the cookbook to the Hylian as a reward in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom could also make cooking more efficient by allowing players to create dishes in bulk. Instead of forcing players to enter and exit the inventory screen repeatedly, the cookbook could also enable Link to cook several meals simultaneously, streamlining the process. This way, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom could resolve one of Breath of the Wild's biggest problems, allowing it to become a relaxing side activity, that also gives stats and health benefits.
