Death Mountain is one of the most iconic locations in the Zelda franchise, and in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it's hiding a hilariously helpful secret atop its rocky peak. Taking advantage of the opportunity will require straying from the intended sequence of events during a quest, but for those who want to maximize their time and quickly unlock Skyview Towers, the exploit is well worth the small detour.

[Warning: The following article contains minor spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.]After all, Tears of the Kingdom's map size is significantly larger than Breath of the Wild's. Not only does Link have the massive, multi-regional land of Hyrule to explore, he can also visit the Sky Islands that hover in the clouds above, or the sprawling, pitch-black Depths below (which match the surface of Hyrule in size). Thanks to his handy Paraglider and the introduction of the Ultrahand ability, which allows players to build more advanced vehicles, traveling in TOTK can be a genuinely fun experience - but others may still prefer efficiency and speed as opposed to a relaxing flight through the air.

Players Can Steal The Glider On Death Mountain

In one of TOTK's best secrets yet, players can actually use a Zonai Glider on top of Death Mountain to quickly unlock Skyview Towers around Hyrule. The opportunity presents itself during the "Yunobo of Goron City" Regional Phenomena quest, wherein Link will be confronted with Moragia, a boss that erupts from the stone of Death Mountain itself. Beating Moragia in Tears of the Kingdom involves flying the Glider while avoiding fireballs and aiming a battle-ready Yunobo at the stony dragon - but as it turns out, players can actually turn around and fly away from the fight entirely, swiping the Glider for themselves.

The Death Mountain Glider Can Help Unlock Skyview Towers

Thanks to the massive height of Death Mountain and the seemingly unlimited battery life of the Zonai Glider, players can make the most of the secret exploit in TOTK by flying around Hyrule, activating Skyview Towers as far as the eye can see. Any player who hasn't yet done the Moragia fight can take advantage of the secret, but they should act fast, in case it gets patched out like Tears of the Kingdom's item duplication glitch.

In the long run, it's probably more rewarding to explore Hyrule as intended, finding the Skyview Towers one by one and discovering all the small details that lie in between. However, it's hard to deny that the amusingly simple Death Mountain Glider exploit in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a tempting way to save some time.
