The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is an iconic Zelda game that has inspired a large plethora of different eye-catching cosplays. There have been seven games in the main Zelda franchise since Twilight Princess, but the game remains a fan favorite. The aesthetics and designs are still beloved by many, perhaps due to the game's darker and more realistic designs.

Redditor generallynotamused posted work-in-progress images of her Princess Zelda cosplay on the Zelda subreddit. Despite having numerous fantastic takes on popular game characters featured on her page, the cosplayer calls this Twilight Princess Zelda a "dream cosplay come true." The costume itself is made by Simcosplay, which creates high-quality costumes of anime, game, and movie characters. Generallynotamused states that she still needs to style the wig and add a few final details. Still, even in its unfinished state, the cosplay already shows an amazing likeness to game's moodier version of the princess.

The best detail of the costume is the cosplayer's makeup, which expertly captures the angular shape rocked by the princess in the classic game right down to the eyebrows. Dainty elf ears and a detailed headdress and gloves complete the look. Prompted by another Redditor to pose with a sword, OP confesses she plans to be "making that impulsive decision soon."

Twilight Princess Features Darker, More Mature Version Of Princess Zelda

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess came out in 2006 for a new generation of consoles. The game was originally developed for the GameCube, but it ended up being released on the Nintendo Wii as well. It featured a more realistic style and was intended to be a sequel to Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, even though Majora's Mask comes after OoT chronologically.

Twilight Princess was an overall darker game, in close competition with Majora's Mask, which many consider to be the darkest Zelda game. It certainly exists in stark contrast to the 2024 game, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, where Princess Zelda takes on a super cute style.

Princess Zelda took a backseat in Twilight Princess, giving center stage to Midna of the Twilight realm. However, despite not being the titular princess, Princess Zelda does play a crucial role in the game. In this entry to the beloved Zelda franchise, players are shown a more mature and serious version of the princess. She's ready to fight but willing to make sacrifices, and cosplayer generallynotamused nails this in the style and mood of her cosplay. Fans on Reddit hope to see more once the full costume is finalized.
