In the world of astrology, the most popular and coveted sign of the Zodiac is the mighty Leo. Leos are natural and charismatic leaders, creative and ready for anything the world throws their way. On the screen, a majority of our heroes share Leo qualities because they are so self-confident they can bring anyone to cheer them on and take a side on their team.

Unfortunately, it's not only the heroes that are destined for greatness with their Leo qualities. Sometimes, the villains are born Leos and they can make for some truly terrifying villains with an army ready to risk their lives for them. Here are the top 10 Leo villains in cinema today.

Supreme Leader Snoke - Star Wars Trilogy

Snoke

Although he had a disappointing arc in the latest Star Wars Trilogy, Supreme Leader Snoke was a force to be reckoned with. Taking over as the intimidating and evil dictator of the dark side, Snoke picked up where Emperor Palpatine left off and would've most likely taken over the galaxy if it wasn't for Rey and her influence on Kylo Ren.

What makes Snoke a Leo is his huge ego and arrogance and his thirst for power despite controlling more than half of the galaxy. His word goes and he'll kill anyone who defies him. He rules with an iron fist and no one would dare cross him and his ruthlessness.

Dame Gothel - Tangled (2010)

Gothel 1

Dame Gothel values her own beauty over anything else. She prides herself on it and she loves being the center of attention with her beauty and she's willing to do anything to maintain it. Even if it means to lock a young, innocent girl in a tower for years and stripping her of her youth for her own selfish reasons.

Her dedication and selfishness in maintaining her beauty as well as her lack of empathy make her a true Leo and a really terrifying one at that.

Dolores Umbridge - Harry Potter Series

She stands out like a sore thumb and she always has to have the last word, Dolores Umbridge may have been a small, old lady but some may argue she was much worse than Voldemort. She didn't take time to settle in as the new Defense Against Dark Arts teacher, instilling rules and regulations and even taking it upon herself to evaluate and fire employees of the school.

Pennywise - IT & IT 2

One thing most Leos share in common is their love for the theatrics, and what horror movie villain loves to dress up in a colorful clown costume and makeup and only come out every 27 years, making sure the whole world knows he's back? Pennywise is a terrifying monster with a hunger for kids and making their worst nightmares come true.

He's creative about how he takes the kids, he doesn't haunt them in their dreams or run them down with a machete and a hockey mask but instead lures them and uses his charm to grab them when they least expect it. He loves what he does and uses any opportunity to show that he does.

Like any Leo, he refuses to take no for an answer and plans to carry out his world domination no matter how many people he kills. Leos see their actions as ends justifying the means, so to him, all the billions of lives lost were a necessary sacrifice for a better world.

Jim Carrey as The Riddler in Batman Forever

He's egomaniacal, flamboyant, and he loves the spotlight. The Riddler is a unique villain by choice, wearing a stand out outfit and carefully designs his plots as riddles or puzzles. He loves outsmarting Batman and proving that he is the best, and he's always looking for a way to level up his intelligence.

Just everything he does is to simply fill his pride and ego and that's what makes him a truly terrifying Leo villain.

Gaston - Beauty & The Beast (2017)

Gaston (Luke Evans) shouting angrily in Beauty and the Beast.

If we could somehow create the embodiment of a Leo, it would no doubt be a lot like Gaston. He's good at just about everything he does, he's arrogant, and he's overly confident. Gaston loves the constant attention and iration he gets around the village and to him, he could get any woman he wants, all it takes is a smile.

Another thing that makes him the perfect embodiment of a Leo is his failure to take rejection. When Belle politely declines his advances, he takes it really hard and focuses his attention on getting Belle. Although he's not the typical villain we see with plots or plans for world domination or a desire to kill the protagonist, he is still a person very few people want to put up with.

Bill "The Butcher" Cutting - The Gangs of New York (2002)

Arguably one of the most ruthless antagonists on the list, Bill Cutting is a racist xenophobic maniac who brutally kills those he sees as a threat, even when 99% of them are innocent people. What makes Cutting such a horrible villain is that he doesn't hide his murderous side in the shadows like most villains, he makes a spectacle out of it for everyone to see.

When he was alive, Ernesto De La Cruz was a legendary musician who was in every movie, album, and poster around Mexico, even having an entire mural dedicated to him. In the afterlife, he was much of the same. Ernesto was a charming and lovable character, acting humble and caring to his fans even though deep down he was an evil and murderous man.

He was willing to kill his friend to stay in the spotlight and even willing to almost kill a child just to keep his dark secret and continue to live like a King.

Ego - Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 (2017)

Ego looks on from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2

If your name is Ego, you probably have to be a little arrogant and egotistical. Ego was extremely egotistical, considering himself a God and wanting to change the world to all bow down to him and worship him. He wants everything done his way, all his creations serving him and only him, he wants to be the center of attention.

He fooled us all with his charm and seemingly good nature and he almost got away with his plan if it wasn't for the Guardians. It was his ego that led to his demise.
