About Russ Burlingame
Russ Burlingame was born and raised in Upstate New York, and has been writing about pop culture in the geek space for 25 years. Beginning at Wizard: The Comics Magazine in 1999, Burlingame has written for a number of outlets, including Newsarama, ComicBook, and On the Red Carpet. Russ has written four books about comic books and related media, including Best Movie Ever, an oral history of the 2001 Josie and the Pussycats movie; The Gold Exchange and A Legend In His Own Time, both about DC superhero Booster Gold; and Getting the Fin Right, about Erik Larsen’s indie masterpiece Savage Dragon.
Burlingame hosts the Emerald City Video Podcast with his longtime friend and creative partner, Zach D. Roberts. Burlingame has had recent bylines at Comic Book Club and KSite. Currently, Burlingame is working on two new books and a documentary film, and freelancing as an editorial copywriter with Oni Press, the Eisner-winning home of projects like Clerks: The Comic Book, Scott Pilgrim, and Genderqueer. He lives in Upstate New York with his wife Cali and their three amazing kids.

Russ has been a lifelong comic book fan and, after working at video stores for years, developed an interest in film.
His favorite comics are Strangers in Paradise, Savage Dragon, Mary Tyler MooreHawk, and any time Dan Jurgens worked on Superman or Booster Gold.
His Letterboxd Top 4 are Zero Effect, Josie and the Pussycats, O Lucky Man! and The VelociPastor. His favorite filmmaker is Kevin Smith, and he is a ionate fan of the Arrowverse.
