See AllWhitaker's New The Pitt Season 2 Role Means A Heartwarming Season 1 Finale Twist Will Likely Be Dropped
How could they not explore that roommate storyline? So many possibilities - they could date, Whittaker could not pay rent even when he gets paid, how does Santos afford a 2 bed place as an 4th year when clearly has no family ? Whittaker could date the nurse that was flirting with him, making a potential love triangle.
1 Storyline In The Pitt Made Me So Angry At Dr. Robby & His Failure
That's kind of the point, that Robby is not perfect. He probably did see himself in David, Robby mentioned not wanting to ruin his life by reporting. But it's not like Robby ignored it - he tried to talk to David but he ran off, Robby even tried to run after David.
The writers could definitely be setting up a backstory when Robby had issues as a teen.
That said, you are completely wrong about the "missing scene."
We can and should always learn, at any age and experience level - but this pervasive theme in screenwriting that by virtue of being born with XX chromosomes a woman has "so much to teach" is disgusting. Women are just as flawed as men.
That Robby should sit at McKay's knee with rapt attention and thank her for the privilege is delusional. Robby itting to McKay he did not think enough about the safety of David's possible victims is more than enough.
Women are just as flawed as men, while McKay was right to follow reporting guidelines, she could have handled it better. Including her somewhat aggressive stance towards David in the psych holding room, pushing him further away. That's what Robby meant by her "mess".
Alisha - since it will not let me reply to you, here it is. I misread your statement as the writers should have included a scene. To be clear - Robby DID NOT say he had a "lot to learn" from McKay, he said "teachers can still learn." My points still mainly stand - you clearly read the scene the way I criticized it above by misrepresenting Robby's words.
"Mess" referred to McKay's aggressive stance, referring to David as an "incel", etc.
Dexter: Original Sin Just Made A Huge OG Missing Character's Season 2 Introduction Much Less Likely
At least a few months? It could have been a few weeks. Even it were 3 months, that's 3 full seasons before Harry dies.
Doakes cannot be introduced until way later, he was on to Dexter from the start and it would not be a decade of Doakes sitting around.
Debra's timeline is moving way too fast - police academies are about 6 months. If they hold 1 a year she is about 18 months at most from getting on the force - and she's still slugging it out trying to get, not even detective, but get into homicide 10 plus years later.
Trying to rehab Harry does not work - he's "proud" she's becoming a cop? It's very clear he never wanted her to be a cop from Dexter flashbacks.
The only way they can fix this is she flunks the academy the first time, and Harry is disappointed to the point he kicks her out of the house. Which is way worse than distance father who Deb was constantly seeking approval from.

10 Biggest Timeline Inconsistencies & Plot Holes In Dexter: Original Sin
So they still have time to introduce Vogel. Matthews replaced by Spencer is more problematic - but this can still be fixed if Matthews was in the reserve and got called up for Desert Storm. Which would also explain why a captain is running homicide instead of an Lt - Spencer had step in to cover for Matthews.
Ketamine was a one off mistake in New Blood, changing in Original Sin would compound the issue (especially after fan backlash from New Blood).
Also the New Blood podcaster could have had her facts wrong (or just fabulizing) - was there any mention of a drug even being used in the BHB investigation? Dexter knocked out the mobile morgue AC so all the body parts were destroyed.

Just re-watching. Very first episodes of Dexter Camilla talks about retiring with Gene.
