This isn't new. The Superman and Lois series which James Gunn had a hand in ending last year, made Superman the same way. I stopped watching the series midway through the final season once I realized what they were doing ie romanticizing mortality, which some say is "humanizing" . It made the show predictable because writers in Hollywood always do this. To me, it's unimaginative. Hollywood writers and directors always romanticize mortality/death. They, like most of society, erroneously believe vulnerability/mortality is the only way life has meaning. However, this just denotes a poverty of imagination.

Whatever happened to the fact that juggernaut isn't supposed to be beaten by any physical means only mental? Do writers not know about the characters they are writing about?

Thanos is anything but small minded. He used, the infinity well in Death's realm to learn everything about the gems (or stones as they are being called now). So it wasn't that he didn't know. He created a female that loved him unconditionally in the infinity gauntlet series so it wasn't like he didn't know he could create another mistress death, he just preferred the Mistress Death in his universe and preferred his native universe.
