See AllAndor Season 2's Missing Episodes Explained: Writer Dan Gilroy Explains Cut K-2SO & Mon Mothma Stories
"Master class in pacing" *my a--* ! I'm sorry, but season two is such a cop-out. We were *robbed* of *four seasons* of plot that got *squashed* in to just one, and *it shows* !
The pacing is *way off* , there's too many plot gaps, too many inconsistencies, too many things we just have to figure-out ourselves rather than get told or *shown* etc etc etc.
Its *very* clear that a bunch of stuff was cut. There have been several examples of plots that seem to be building to something and then *nothing happens* and we are just expected to accept it and move on. For example, the stolen ship, or the attack that Saw was planning.
I was heartbroken when the massacre happened, but *not because I cared about the characters* . We *didn't even know* the Ghorman rebels! Can you honestly any of their names? I know I can't. They had very, *very* little screen time and *no character development whatsoever* , sorry. So, the massacre was a punch in the stomach, yes, but only because it was countless innocent, unarmed people being lambs to the slaughter in an enclosed space, reminiscent of *IRL events* in the past. Not because I gave a fudge about the characters whose names I don't even . Heck, we didn't even get to see the rebellion there *grow* or what the Empire was doing, *how things got to that point* . We were expected to just fill in the gaps, use our imaginations, and occasionally a character would say something that hinted at something that had happened in the past year... I'm sorry, but that's *not good enough* !
They even retconned K2SO's origin, which was apparently *completely different* in the books. And what happened to Cassion's family droid? And will we ever learn what the dealeo was with the Empire and Cassian's planet? Why his people were only children? What happened to his sister? What happened to the Andy Serkis character who couldn't swim? Etc etc etc.
I repeat: *WE. WERE. ROBBED!*
They took a 9-9.5 and made it a 7.
"A Lot Of The Ideas Got Lost": George Lucas Breaks His Silence On Disney's Star Wars
🙄 You're joking, right? "With their wallets" like the franchise isn't still making *billions of dollars in profits every year* 🤦🏻♀🤣
Disney's Star Wars is more successful, has more fans, makes more profit than George's Star Wars ever did (granted times have changed since the 90s, which is *definitely* a factor in that)!
*Millions* of kids and young adults (gen-a & gen-z) like me *grew-up* with DSW and that was our *introduction* to a franchise that we might not have ever even heard of let-alone *seen* and been a fan of, otherwise!
Star Wars isn't dead. It's *stronger* now than it's ever been. I'm sorry you and older generations don't like it, but you still have six other films, the OG Clone Wars anime, and the "Legends" books comics and games to enjoy. No one is *forcing* you to watch DSW's content.
You're allowed to dislike DSW, but please don't kid yourself that the franchise is "dead" because *it isn't* . It's also just plain mean & #NOTCOOL to younger fans like myself when you act like we don't exist nor matter.
Star Wars Completes A 2-Year-Old Inquisitor Retcon, Pretty Much Erasing My Favorite Ahsoka Story From Canon
The irony here is that the "EU"/"Legends" was erased from canon because of how inconsistent and convoluted it had become. Their plan was to keep a tight ship, to make sure all their stories had intricate continuity. And it worked! Until they screwed-over Ashoka like this :-( It's one of my favourite Star Wars books of all time ("EU" included), so this was a big punch in the gut.
10 Excellent Movie Twists In Otherwise Mediocre Films
I'm sorry, but number 2 doesn't belong on this list. That twist/reveal ruined the movie. I was forced to watch them all with my bestie who was obsessed with them haha and the movies aren't very good (but they have their moments), but that sequence with the huge battle was incredible and by far the best part of the entire movie franchise... And then they took it all back and revealed it was a ruddy dream! None of it happened! I was so miffed! It could have been an amazing ending, but if was ruined imo.
10 Excellent Movie Twists In Otherwise Mediocre Films
The alternative ending ideas are really great, and some are much more Lovecraftian. For instance, in one of the considered endings, Cthulhu won! He is released into the world... Of course, in the post-credits scene, it is revealed that the company is going to keep digging, so they clearly hoped to do a sequel, and Cthulhu clearly didn't die.
Star Wars Just Quietly Rewrote The History Of The Sith & The High Republic Era (And I Can't Believe I Missed It)
Pst, Donner is Rennod backwards ;-) I think it was intentional. Apparently it's a The Goonies reference.
