I agree that Dalton was an excellent Bond. He showed the same slight streak of cruelty that Connery brought to the role. The only problem, like Brosnan, is he's too old. He's 78 - he makes an excellent villain on "1923" but Bond is way past him now.

Mitchum's original role was as Old Man Clanton, a real cattle rancher who lived between 1816 and 1881. His part was written out after he sustained an injury after falling from a horse and could no longer act in the movie. Too bad, it would have been great to see him on screen.
