Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal are just too good together in this. The buddy cop genre switch really works. It's super entertaining, funny, and thrilling. I'll take about 8 more of these please.

It’s not so much that The Electric State is bad - but it is. It’s just also so boring and uninspired

I’ve never played Minecraft, but the kids in the theater loved it which is what matters. But the only real fun I had was Momoa and Black’s bromance. If that was the focus of the movie, it could’ve been great. Instead, often bogged down by a familiar narrative and boring villain

Just a super duper solid and thrilling true story. Harrelson and Liu and Cole are all really good. Honestly pretty gripping and effective

The Monkey is gory pulpy fun. Some really good imagery with the monkey, and Theo James was actually pretty solid. Characters are just pretty thin and the amount it focuses on the origin/backstory really surprised me. But there’s some really fun (in a twisted way) death sequences and dark humor to keep it entertaining

The Gorge should’ve been a home run considering who is involved. Solid stuff from Teller, Anya, and Derrickson, but nothing special. Really think they could’ve shaved 10-15 minutes off this and helped a lot too

Still charming, but not quite as much. Antonio Banderas is having fun which is nice

Super charmed by Ferrell and Witherspoon. It’s got the hijinks to keep things light and fun

Some good laughs and good action. Jack Quaid doing his usual thing, which I enjoy. The R-rated Home Alone sequence is very fun

Soderbergh goes two for two in 2025. Dad’s bender and Blanchett are terrific. A real thrill of a story. Gets pretty complicated at the end, but still works. Just a smart and sexy movie that adds to Soderbergh’s great filmography.

Classic Bong Joon ho dark comedy. Reminded me a lot of Okja with its very big performances, round CGI creatures, and humor. The political commentary isn’t as sharp or poignant as some of Bong’s other work, but there’s still a lot to like here. Robert Pattinson is tremendous and Ruffalo steals all the scenes. I had a wonderful time

Rachel Zegler gives a great performance and deserves to have been in a much better movie. She's terrific, it's just a shame the movie isn't

I wish Anthony Mackie got a better result for his first solo Marvel movie. Brave New World has its flaws to be sure, and despite the messy outcome here, there's still a level of enjoyment to be had. Sam and Joaquin's dynamic works, Isaiah Bradley's role is strong, and Harrison Ford as Red Hulk is still cool. Could have paid off some MCU teases better and ironed out a sharper story. The action, particularly the Celestial Island fight, did work for me.

Flight Risk needed so much more of Mark Wahlberg's hammy villain performance for it really work

I wish I could love Den of Thieves 2 more, but its execution is still too uneven. Leaning more into Big Nick and Donnie's bromance was smart, though. I was just missing some of the heart-racing action that the first film had more of

Dog Man isn't quite as funny as Captain Underpants The First Epic Movie, but it's still got plenty of humor and heart to work

Wolf Man is a very solid monster movie that puts more of an emphasis on the family in a good way. Whannell definitely takes some risks with how he reinvents the werewolf, but they mostly worked for me.

There are some really big laughs in One of Them Days. For my money, the blood bank sequence is the funniest part. Keke Palmer and SZA are so good together

I love a lot of Soderbergh's movies, so his take on a "horror" movie is exciting. It's so simple and yet still very effective. Hope to see a lot more of Callina Liang after this

Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid are excellent and really make the twists and turns involved work. Only real complaint is that the marketing showed way too much. But it's a lot of fun still
