Skirk not introducing Quantum as an element in Genshin has me on the fence about pulling her. Only if her role in the story is paramount and her characterization is good would I pull for her, and then only if they haven't already leaked a more attractive unit for a future banner.

She desperately needs to be Omni element or at least the Genshin equivalent, like "Abyss" or "Void" something. To shake up any refreshment to the game. We haven't had a "new" element and reactions for over 2 years with Dendro.

I too imagined such a possibility over the past decade or so. Nintendo however doesn't want all that red tape involved in paying some nobody for patenting a design they might've already had in their repertoire. Such a precedent also promotes toxic behavior, namely artists cranking out thousands and thousands of interesting designs on the expectation that GF/TPC will have to buy them in order to have any new Pokémon at all.

They were relegated to penciled paper and hidden amateur websites back in the day though. Now any fan-mon design posted on, for example, DeviantArt, is copyrighted as owned by the site. Taking it and any near-identical designs out of GF/TPC's art pool.

I've been saying this for over a decade. Fan-mons take designs out of the pool of possible Real Pokémon we get. This should have been understood, but plenty of underwhelming monster designs of the past few generations makes it more apparent. Doubly so when we consider fan-mon projections of the final form of Starter Pokémon. So many great designs taken out of the pool... 🙄😑
