Whether or not these middling characters ever come back to life is all about writing. Just like comics, if a writer like Donny Cates comes along and breathes life into a character with some strong story telling it will get made.

It was just watered down. The characters exist and are already success but is it worth telling watered down origin stories over and over? No. Good writing makes a good show, movie, idea and sparks interest. How many times have we seen characters rises and fall in the comics over the years. Same thing happens with Saturday night live. It's all about the writers Same thing here.
