“That’s The Best Show Ever”: Jonathan Frakes & Brent Spiner Love One Particular Star Trek Show For Breaking The Franchise’s Rules
I tried the first episode of Lower Decks and it was so boring! Nothing landed. The irreverent nature did not compensate for the fact none of the writing was actually funny. I laugh at plenty of silly things like SpongeBob Squarepants, Robin Williams and even the outtakes of TNG. It is not an issue of me lacking a sense of humour, it's just not funny. Same with that Short Short Trek with the holograms; silly does not equate to funny.
12 Starships In Star Trek’s New Shows Ranked, Worst To Best
I still wish they would make the pylons on Pike's Enterprise straight rather than swept back. The concept art provided to them even depicted them as straight. The swept back look was unique to the refit. Now, every time I see Pike's Enterprise in promotional material, particularly as a silhouette or shadow, I initially think it's the refit. Besides that, I love the design. Sometimes when the angle is just right, it looks straight and I love it. TOS is my favourite era and has my favourite Enterprise design. Why dilute it?
22 Years Later, Star Trek: The Original Series Finally Got The Finale Captain Kirk’s Enterprise Always Deserved
Undiscovered Country is a brilliant movie overshadowed by Wrath of Khan. That scene where Kirk tells Spock to let the Klingons die is chilling and the look Spock gives him sells it all the more. It's like Spock was thinking "After all these years, I thought I knew you...". It was a ballsy move to have Kirk have such an unlikable moment so late in life, but it worked given their previous conflicts and the death of David. Even in a last adventure, a character should have growth in some way and having them forgive and accept their oldest foe is such a beautiful send off. Peace with Klingons was truly the Undiscovered Country for Kirk! It was the last thing he needed to do before retirement.
If You Call Yourself A Star Trek Fan, You’ve Watched These 10 Episodes, Right?
The fact you listed two episodes from recent Trek is laughable and really discredited your own list. If you were a "true fan" you'd see just how anti trek modern Trek is. Star Trek is being made by people who don't like Trek and so are using it to make fun of Star Trek fans. "Look at these nerds who like continuity and taking the world and technology seriously! It would be a shame if we just... Oops! I broke it! *Laughs hysterically*"
This Star Trek Season 1 Episode Was Banned In The UK For Over 20 Years
I'm from the UK and have been watching Star Trek since I was a young child in the early noughties. I've enjoyed TOS since day one. We're not all overly sensitive. I understand cutting a shot for being too graphic when it's aired when children are watching TV, particularly that phaser blast in TNG. But Star Trek isn't that bad it needs entire episodes censored. Well, golden era excluding some of the movies. I don't think children should watch Star Trek when it has swearing, but that's a different debate.
Marvel Head Kevin Feige Addresses Sebastian Stan’s Awards Recognition After A Studio Head Told The Actor Not To Play Trump
Someone get this man to play Luke Skywalker! He could totally pull off playing the character and make it his own while also being authentic to Hamill's performance. Look, he's great and versatile and this fan casting goes deeper than just a ing resemblance.
Why Spencer Dutton Blaming Whitfield For Alex's Death In 1923 Still Makes No Sense Despite Brandon Sklenar's Explanation
Makes total sense to me. Maybe watch it again and you'll get it.
"It’s The Superman I Grew Up With:" Warner Bros. Executive Praises James Gunn's Superman, Compares It To Classic Christopher Reeve Films
Well, why didn't they show that in the marketing? Why didn't they depict a hopeful, positive and inspiring Superman in the marketing? Why is the superman in the trailers broody, apathetic, violent and more like Batman? I'm not going to see a movie because of what some exec promises it is going to be, I go because the marketing convinces me to. The marketing has convinced me this is nothing like the Superman I want to see and so I'm not going. They should have released a better trailer.
Popular Casting Choice For DC's New Batman Addresses Whether He's Had Talks With DC Studios And Opens Up About Being A Favorite Pick
He's brilliant in 1923 and he has that silent, dangerous, ruggedness down. If he were Batman, I'd take notice and be more interested in James Gunn's little Justice League.
No, This Hated Star Trek: The Original Series Episode Isn't The Show's Worst
Of course it isn't the worst. Discovery came along.
A Firefly Sequel Has To Happen, But It No Longer Needs Nathan Fillion
Ah, of course an article is going to claim a male protagonist needs to replaced by a female one. I've said for awhile that Firefly as a brand needs to be given a Star Trek Next Generation style revisit. Not necessarily a huge time jump, but just another ensemble group who go on similar adventures made up of equally unique individuals. But everything is being rebooted with a female lead now where there was once a male lead and usually with a woman with about as much charisma as a plank of wood. Then there's inevitably a white man who's just a clumsy comic relief with no depth like he's in a modern commercial. It's boring. Try something different. Here's an idea: just give people what they want. No subversions of expectations, no appealling to a mythical modern audience and absolutely no listening to journalists. Firefly deserves better considering it had a cast of multidimensional, exceptionally written characters.
Kirk’s Second USS Enterprise Did Something No Other Star Trek Ship Accomplished Before - Until Discovery
So, it's something only Kirk Enterprise has done. Got it. Here's hoping they make more real Star Trek with people who actually care about the franchise beyond it being a soapbox, so we can see it happen again.
Kirk’s Second USS Enterprise Did Something No Other Star Trek Ship Accomplished Before - Until Discovery
@Robert it's god lower case. As was established with dialogue, he wasn't God because he needed a starship and didn't know who any of the people he was talking to were. God uppercase refers to the being many believe to be the creator of the universe who is all knowing. I don't know if God exists in Star Trek or if they'll meet Him, but that wasn't God; that story is yet to happen, if ever.
Din Djarin Would Definitely Kill Darth Vader: The Sith Lord's Secret Mandalorian Connection Explained
What kind of articles are these? Do these writers actually understand Star Wars and it's fanbase? Of course Vader would murder Chrome Body - he can barely swing a saber! The original characters created by Lucas cannot be touched or matched made by the "official" fan fiction by Disney. So just stop wasting time and effort trying to justify Disney and their misuse of the property. Star Wars is in the crapper and this stuff certainly isn't helping. If you don't understand why, then maybe AI could write better articles.
Across Star Trek: The Original Series' 3 Seasons, This 1969 Episode Was Dr. McCoy's Best
"In this galaxy, there's a mathematical probability of three million earth-type planets...and in all the universe, three million million galaxies like this one. And in all of that, and perhaps more, only one of each of us. Don't destroy the one named Kirk."
I'm Convinced The Spider-Man 4 Theory That Casts Sadie Sink As Tobey Maguire's Daughter Is The Best Choice For Following Up On No Way Home's Story
I think it's more likely she's just playing the MCU's Mary Jane Watson. You know the redhead model girlfriend of Peter Parker/Spider-Man? We have yet to meet her because Zendaya's character was Michelle Jones. Not everything has to be multiverse shenanigans.
How Khan Recognizes Chekov In Star Trek II, Despite Not Meeting Him In The TV Series
It's not far fetched to think he was elsewhere on the ship in season one and was essentially promoted to bridge staff duties and transferred. I've never seen Khan recognising him an issue and adds texture to the world by showing Chekhov earned his place on the bridge of the Enterprise and didn't just appear there one day.
Sorry, Clint Eastwood, But The Best Western One-Liner Belongs To Charles Bronson
Once Upon a Time in the West is my favourite Western. It's better at the operatic spectacle than The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and beats the larger than life characterisations in Tombstone.
Sergio Leone perfected the cinematic Western and Ennio Morricone composed a soundtrack that elevates the experience. The fact people elevate the Dollars Trilogy higher means it is underrated too.
